Extreme photography manufacturer GoPro has announced three new cameras to join the family on Monday. These are the GoPro Hero, Hero4 Black and Hero4 Silver. Known for the durability of its devices, GoPro is set to release the three on Oct.5.

What sets GoPro Hero apart from the other models is its cheaper price, which starts at $130. The camera hosts 1080p HD video running at 30 frames per second or 720p HD video at 60 frames per second, as reported by The Westside Story.

While GoPro Hero lacks Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity capacities, unlike the other two Hero 4s, both Hero4 Black and Hero4 Silver sport "Protune," a feature that delivers "cinema-caliber" videos.

Hero4 Black is dubbed as GoPro's "most high-end camera yet," according to Business Insider. Priced at $499, the camera is able to shoot 4K video at the rate of 30 frames per second. The camera shoots images through its 12MP sensor. Like the regular GoPro Hero, it also captures 1080p videos but on a much faster rate of 120 frames per second. Since this model will allow Wi-Fi and Bluetooth syncing, users can connect the device to the GoPro app through smartphone.

Falling $100 cheaper is the Hero4 Silver, which captures 1080p video at 60 frames per second or 720p at 120 frames per second. It sports a touchscreen display, allowing convenient user actions. It also shoots 12MP photos at 30 frames per second. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capacities included, the device costs $399.

Getting an initial hands-on on GoPro's latest offerings is Wall Street Journal, which pointed out GoPro's distinction, "What makes GoPros so effective is solid imaging technology in a tiny package that doesn't feel precious." The user warned that the video files shot at 4K in 30 fps generate huge file storage.

The Hero4 Silver's wide-angle lens was reported to capture clouds "more dramatically" than the iPhone 6.

Apparently, the Hero4 Silver is the user's recommendation for professionals - its built-in screen is one unique feature. He compared this feature to that of the other two cameras which need to be controlled with three buttons.

On the downside, both Hero 4s were reported to last for only 2.5 hours. Yet all three are able to go 40 meters underwater.

The GoPro Hero 4 was previously reported to be a single camera, and a potential rival to HTC's long-rumored waterproof camera. HTC has already released a teaser video about "the world premiere of a remarkable new product."
