She is a country musician--or at least, that's how she started. The 24-year-old singer has been known for her guitar-strumming and live singing. But this time, things will be a little bit different.

Taylor Swift does not confine herself to country music and it all started in 2012 with "Red." The blockbuster album shocked many of her fans as rock, folk, dubstep, and other hybrids of musical genre composed the album.

Billboard said that the foundation of the project was bubble-gum pop. Taylor's completion of "The Red Tour," which ran from March 13, 2013 in Nebraska to June 12, 2014 in Singapore, is apparently the culmination of the said album's promotions.

But that doesn't mean no more pop for the singer. Taylor surprised fans with "Shake It Off", one of the tracks from her upcoming album, "1989." The seemingly fresh music from the country music singer makes her quite a versatile performer who thinks--in this case, sings outside of the box.

Rolling Stone reported that the singer was quite fond of pop music, after all. She shared with the outlet, "I was listening to a lot of late-Eighties pop."

The singer added that she really loves the chances taken by musicians from the '80's. She said she loves how bold and ahead of their time their music was.

The likes of Madonna, Neneh Cherry, Fine Young Cannibals, Roxette, Milli Vanilli, Samantha Fox, Bobby Brown, Paula Abdul, Billy Joel, Kool G Rap, and DJ Polo reign supreme during that time, Rolling Stone said.

Pop music seems to be just one of the surprises Taylor has in "1989". The singer also reportedly admitted to have made reference to ex-boyfriend Harry Styles in the album.

According to Hollywood Life, a song titled "Style" is part of the tracklist. The report noted that Taylor responded with a "satisfied grin" when asked about the particular track. She said, "We should have just called it 'I'm Not Even Sorry.'"

Taylor Swift is the sexy cover of the Rolling Stone magazine, Sept. 2014 issue. According to Yahoo, the daring magazine cover was shot in her $17 million Rhode Island abode.
