Team USA's Kyrie Irving hurt himself after falling badly during a game against Ukraine on Thursday.

Though his team claimed victory over its opponent, Irving was obviously in pain and he was escorted from the court after falling during the closing seconds of the game, SB Nation on Yahoo Sports said in a report.

The initial information on the injury that he sustained was still unclear but reports reveal that he could have hurt his knee after the bad fall as he tried to score a point for the team.

SB Nation speculated and hoped that he only sustained a bruise based from the video posted by Sports Illustrated's Ben Golliver that circulated on social media.

A similar CBS Sports report noted that the player is doing fine. He even announced through his Twitter handle that there is no need to worry about his condition.

"I'm all good everybody, just a tough fall. Appreciate the concern #ontobarcelona," Irving tweeted.

The same report added that it took a while for Irving to get up from the nasty fall and that he had to be assisted all the way to the locker rooms.

For his part, Team USA head coach, Mike Krzyzewski, told members of the media after the game that his player is fine and that he doesn't "anticipate a serious injury."

CBS said that this freak accident and the injury that Paul George sustained during team practice should prod the U.S. team to "revisit the questions" on stars playing for the tournament, noting that the two injured athletes are important contributors to the team and to their success in the tournament.

This was also supported by a Dime Mag article saying that the real danger of basketball compared to other sports is the fact that the bodies collide on midair. Accidents, the report said, are rare but these cannot be avoided and could often lead to paralyzing a team and creating long-term physical damages to the players.

The question now, according to Dime Mag, is if Irving will be healthy enough to sustain himself for their upcoming games. Perhaps the team should let him rest first or not physically exhaust him by letting him play for the rest of the four quarters. As Dime Mag said, there is no rush to bring him if he is not yet ready because it will only torment him and the team as well.

Team USA is set to fight Mexico next and an ESPN report said that they will just maintain their strategy in their previous games.

"We've been pretty successful doing it that way, so we're going to keep doing it that way," he noted.

For Steph Curry, who plays guard for the team, improvement on their play is still a very essential part of winning. "We've gotta start the games a little bit better, with a little more assertiveness, but other than that we've played well. You've gotta remember, we haven't played together that long. This is a brand new team. So every game you gotta stay focused on getting better and getting more chemistry on the court," he told ESPN.
