An anonymous telephone tip led investigators to the discovery of three dismembered bodies near the Mexican Attorney General's Office in the southern city of Chilpancingo, according to authorities in Guerrero state.

Authorities responded to the anonymous top by searching the dumping site before dawn. It was there that they discovered "three bags with dismembered bodies," according to the Guerrero state Attorney General's office.

The remains appear to belong to three male victims between the ages of 25 and 35. Authorities have not yet identified the victims.

The bags and dismembered bodies were accompanied by a message threatening state Gov. Angel Aguirre and Chilpancingo Mayor Mario Moreno, although the exact wording of the threat has not been released.

Authorities have steppd up police presence in Chilipancingo in recent months after increased tension between reigning cartel Los Rojos and recent startup group Guerreros Sureños, who are battling for turf and control of drug trade in the area.
