Shredder is here!

The world has just been given a first look at the villain of the upcoming "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" film.

The picture of Shredder was tweeted by fan site TMNT on Twitter and the new design and look of Shredder has got Michael Bay written all over it. The photo shows a large Shredder in full armor decked out with knives of all sizes.

Shredder looks highly mechanical, to say the least with many critics assessing the villain's appearance to be a cross-between a Transformer and a Samurai.

ScreenRant had some words to say on the look and described it as having the "Transformers influence" and comments that it sets forth a very robot-like build with "Edward Scissorhands style hand blades."

There is no mention by the fansite where the photo was sourced but from the looks of things, Shredder's about to wreck havoc with that monstrous attire.

William Fictner plays the role of Shredder and is best known for his role on the end-of-the-world film "Armageddon." Other celebrities featured in the reboot include Megan Fox, Will Arnett, and Tony Shalhoub.

According to ScreenRant, the summary of the 2014 TMNT film is as follows, "Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles."

There have been a number of different versions as to the origin of Shredder but in this new film, Shredder has a hand in, along with the father of April O'Neil (Megan Fox) in the creation of the reptile warriors, the Ninja Turtles, notes Blaster.

Taking the reigns in the upcoming film is director Jonathan Liebesman and produced by Michael Bay, the famed director of the "Transformer" series. Similar to the approach taken by Bay and his team for the upcoming "Transformers: Age of Extinction," TMNT has a number of TV spots out to boost the excitement and anticipation of the upcoming film release.

The "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" remake is set to hit theaters on August 8, 2014. For more information on the film, merchandise and other updates, head over to the official website of the TMNT film.
