On the third game of the NBA Finals, the San Antonio Spurs proved that they can emerge victorious even with the homecourt advantage of rival Miami Heat bringing a 111-92 win on Tuesday.

Miami's LeBron James told the Washington Post that their opponent "came in with a desperation that we just didn't match."

The Spurs now maintain a 2-1 lead in the series that was previously tied before Tuesday's game.

The team grabbed the first win in the championship series with James not being able to complete the game because of his leg cramps. The Heats however proved that they will put up a good fight to defend their NBA title and snatched the second game at San Antonio's home court.

According to Washington Post, Leonard "personally outscored Miami 13-12  during the first seven minutes of the game." Heat star player James tried to do the same with his shooting but some of his three pointers did not go in. The Post noted that James' one-man show was "no match" to the Spurs' dedication to win the game.

Leonard told USA Today that he was just able to "get into rhythm" during Tuesday's game leading him to score 16 points during the first quarter and finish the game with 29 points.

James said in an interview with ABC News that the team will "get better" from last night's game. "We hate the performance that we put on. But it's 2-1. It's not 4-1. It's 2-1, and we have to make some adjustments, come in and learn from our mistakes as we always do after a loss," he added.

James' teammate Chris Bosh, on the other hand, said they will take the experience "on the chin." Heat coach Erik Spoelstra agreed with Bosh telling USA Today that they have to regroup and come out with a much better performance for the next game.

"You have to deal with all the emotions that happen in the Finals - frustration, anger, pain, elation, all of it, and it can swing back and forth. It's a long series. We have to be able to manage this, and it starts with tomorrow owning it," he added.

Game 4 of the finals is scheduled on Friday at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida.
