Amanda Bynes seems to have made great strides in her mental health since being released from a luxury mental facility late last year.

After displaying months of bizarre and erratic behavior in 2013, the troubled actress was committed to a psychiatric hospital on July 22 when she set fire to a stranger's driveway, around the corner from her parents' home. She was rumored to have been diagnosed with schizophrenia and her parents were granted full conservatorship over her fortune.

Bynes received treatment for mental illenss at UCLA's medical center before she was transfered to a mental rehabilitation facility in Malibu called The Canyon.

In December, the former Nickelodeon child star was released into the care of her parents in Thousand Oaks, Calif and appears to have made a full turn around.

During a progress hearing on Tuesday, the judge commended Bynes' mother Lynn for getting her daughter back on course, reports TMZ.

"Good job, Mrs. Bynes. Well done," said the judge.

Since her release, the 27-year-old actress has also been focusing on her physical health and has been frequently photographed wearing workout gear and going to the gym.

Earlier this year, the "Hairspray" star spent $3,250 to attend a week-long fitness retreat in Utah.

"She was interested in getting healthier...to get in better shape, to lose about five pounds, but mainly to strengthen up and eat healthier," Austan Torson, the owner and personal trainer at Miracles Fitness Retreat told E! News.

"I think it was a really good experience for her," he added. "She participated in everything we did. She was always up in the morning even though she was tired."
