Apparently, veteran comedian and actor Dick Van Dyke turned down the opportunity to appear on "Two and a Half Men" alongside legendary comics Carl Reiner, Tim Conway, Steve Lawrence and Garry Marshall because the show is "too raunchy."

In last Thursday's episode, "Bite Me, Supreme Court," Reiner guest starred as Marty Pepper, a wealthy man engaged to Alan's mother's Evelyn.  After Marty proposed to Evelyn, Walden and Alan threw him a bachelor party which was attended by his friends played by Marshall, Conway and Lawrence.

However, according to RumorFix, the popular CBS sitcom also petitioned Van Dyke to star in the all-star comic episode, but an inside source says he turned it down because "He didn't like the script - there were too many penis jokes."

RumorFix says the show producers tried to accommodate the 88-year-old "Mary Poppins" star by giving the naughty jokes to the other characters. However, he still refused to make an appearance because he did not want to tarnish his seven-decade long squeaky clean image.

On Twitter, Van Dyke acknowledged the rumor, writing on Sunday, "I turned it down because I wasn't allowed to see a script beforehand."

According to Nielsen, that particular episode hit an all-time low in ratings. "Two and a Half Men," along with CBS' "The Crazy Ones," both delivered 1.9 averages in the 18-49 viewer demographic, with both shows falling a half-point from their previous originals and matching their series lows, reports TVWeek. Nonetheless, even with the two shows getting a low turnout of viewers in the demo, CBS still managed to get the most viewers of the night.
