Apple's Live Photos Gets Facebook Support [Details]

Good news, Apple users! Facebook now has a new feature that allows the use of Live Photos on every post. With the new update of iOS on Monday, the social media giant added this characteristic that iPhones' are boasting.

To recall, it has been three months since Technology Company launched Live Photos, which allows the user to caption the moment with sounds and movements. According to TechCrunch, the feature was applied to the newly launched iPhone 6S and now, social media applications are supporting it.

In fact, Tumblr just carried the new feature as of a couple of days ago, followed by the leading social media giant, owned by Mark Zuckerberg. Facebook now lets its users share and view Live Photos from their iOS app.

While the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus are the only phones to be able to use this feature, any iPhone powered by iOS 9 can still view the Live Photos. It should be noted that the feature is not fully developed yet, so only some people will be able to use it. It will be applied all over the world in the coming year.

Additionally, uploading Live Photos is as easy as posting a common picture -- with just one extra step. While choosing a photo from the gallery, one simply has to press the "Live" button, placed in the bottom right of the screen, and voila! Live Photos can now be seen.

It is unclear if Facebook will apply the new feature to its other platforms, like Instagram, as reported by Fortune. However, this is just one of the many features that the social networking service is planning to give photo and video enthusiasts.

To recall, just earlier this month, Facebook unveiled "Live," which is similar to Meerkat or Periscope's feature of streaming live feeds. It has viewers leave comments in "real-time," which can be saved on their timelines.

Facebook also allows its users to create a photo and video grid with new "collage-sharing" feature. It now has a whopping four billion video streams a day, as noted by Wall Street Journal.

That was the result of one billion video watchers from September 2014, with additional three billion views in January 2015. Hence, Facebook will generate more views by introducing new video applications to get the support from its users to help their "ad-supported" content.

In fact, Variety cited, as published by Fortune, Facebook has the potential to produce $3.8 billion in profit from video advertising alone in 2017, exceeding their revenue expectation in 2015. It has been said that videos produced by its members and advertisers throughout the years increased by 400 percent.
