Cristiano Ronaldo dealt the latest blow to those hopeful that the Madrid superstar would make his return to Manchester this summer.

According to ESPN, the superstar forward stated that despite his fond memories with Manchester United, he was happy with his currently club and was focused on the upcoming La Liga season.

"I really miss English football. For me, it was some of the best years in my career when I was there in Manchester United," Ronaldo said during a visit to a school in Singapore. "Everyone knows that. It is the club that is still in my heart and I really, really miss [United].

However he added, "But now my life is in Spain, I'm enjoying playing there too. Part of my life is there but the future, we never know but I'm really, really happy in the Spanish league at the moment."

Ronaldo finished the season with 34 goals in 30 Spanish league matches; he also scored a tournament-high 12 goals in 12 Champions league games.

For the last few years, Ronaldo has been constantly compared to Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi. Now the competition has been augmented with the arrival of Brazilian phoneme Neymar at the Camp Nou. Neymar is coming off a terrific Confederations Cup run in which he scored four goals in five games and was named the best player in the tournament. When asked about how he felt regarding Neymar's arrival in Barcelona, Ronaldo remained indifferent.

"I'm only thinking about my team. I don't care about Barcelona. They've signed a great player but I am focused on my team, which I think is the best in the world," he stated.

Ronaldo has been constantly linked with a transfer to Manchester United. Reports even indicated that he was slated to meet with the English side last year. However, his recent comments indicate that he has decided to remain with Madrid.

Ronaldo is under contract with Real Madrid until 2015.
