A Christmas Eve Tweet from Christina Aguilera lets her fans know that new material is on its way from the pop diva.

The singer who has become so familiar to audiences as a judge of others' musical abilities lately is apparently also working up some new material to showcase her own talents.

An image of Aguilera, casual at home with a white T-shirt belting out into a microphone set-up, and featuring some scant Christmas decorations and subdued lighting that suggest an artist lost in the throes of their work, was released on Christmas Eve on Aguilera's Twitter channel. It was quickly retweeted more than 3,000 times.

If the success of her most recent side project is anything to go by, this new material coming from Aguilera could be very well-received. "Say Something," by A Great Big World and featuring Aguilera was released last month and is making a lot of noise. The Youtube video for the single has been viewed more than 16 million times since it was uploaded on Nov. 20.

The song is actually a result of Aguilera hearing it while witching So You Think You Can Dance?, and then contacting the artists. "And then we got a call and were in L.A. like a week later recording with her," said Chad Vaccarino, one-half of A Great Big World along with Ian Axel.

Aguilera also has a bit more free time to put into her own music these days as The Voice aired its season finale earlier this month with Jamaican singer Tessanne Chin. The final episode of the season drew in 14 million viewers according to USA Today, which was slightly below the mark of the prior season's ratings.

Aguilera performed a duet with Lady Gaga prior to the announcement of the winners.

"This is the first time we've ever met," Aguilera told the crowd according to the AP. "I just have to say guys, she's like the most down to earth, real person that I've ever met in this business and female to female, in this industry it's really hard to find that kind of a person."
