Batman: Arkham Origins is the newest entry into the critically acclaimed series, and the game's new multiplayer modes have been very popular with fans who may have felt that the game's single-player campaign was lackluster compared to the first two entries in the series. Now, developer WB Montreal has released a new multiplayer mode called Hunter, Hunted that adds a unique twist to traditional last man standing or elimination multiplayer matches, IGN reported.

Hunter, Hunted features three unique teams. The first has three Joker thugs, the second has three Bane thugs, and the third is a single player playing as Batman. The three factions will fight each other on a map, but there will be no respawns available during the game. This means that whoever is left standing at the end of the match will be the winner, and one mistake could be the difference between a victory or a defeat. Many different games offer a similar mode, but Batman: Arkham Origins adds the twist that the third player playing as Batman will have advantages over the two teams of three and must rely on stealth rather than firepower to win the match.

While fans may be excited by this new multiplayer mode, it is not the original DLC that was announced for the month of December. WB Montreal is also planning to launch The Initiation DLC for the game. This DLC, which is part of the game's season pass, will allow players to play as Bruce Wayne as opposed to Batman. Players must take on a challenge map that features a monastery full of ninjas that will show Bruce Wayne learning how to be Batman. This DLC will fit into the overall narrative of Arkham Origins that shows Batman early in his career as the Caped Crusader.

It will be interesting to see how owners of Batman: Arkham Origins take to this new multiplayer DLC as well as the single player The Initiation DLC that is set to be released as well. Some fans were upset with the season pass for DLC for the game, which features many different character skins sets but relatively few story-based DLC packs. With these two gameplay DLC's being released, some of these critical fans could be placated, especially because the Hunter, Hunted DLC is free and not previously announced for the game.

Look out for more Batman: Arkham Origins news right here as the DLC for the game continues to roll out.
