Here is a comparison of the Moto G 2015 3rd Generation and the previous release Moto G 2014.

Phone Arena reported that there is a slight change in the design of the phone but it still followed the usual design of the series.

"Notable differences to its design include the metal trim bezel and the rearrangement of the camera's section," it said.

The website added that the Moto G 2015 3rd Generation comes with a Moto Maker which enabled users to customize their handsets.

The phone also comes with an IPX7 certification, which means it is water resistant.

Meanwhile, the Moto G 2014 was also water resistant and came in black and white base colors. The Motorola website said that users also had the choice of changing phone shells and flip shells.

According to Android Central, the new Motorola phone runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop using a 1.4 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quadcore processor. It will come in 1GB and 2GB RAM variants.

Phone Arena said that Motorola's latest flaghsip phone has a 5-inch 720 x 1280 display, which is already great for basic use.

"There's good vibrancy when it's jacked up to its brightest setting, but distortion is visible at wide angles - causing colors to come out washed out," it said.

The Moto G 2014 was previously released with the same display as the new phone.

The new addition to the Motorola market has a 13 MP rear camera which has the capability to shoot 1080P videos at 30fps and a 5MP front shooter for clear selfies and video calling.

Considering the changes in the phone, the price is already reasonable compared to the $179.99 it cost to own a Moto G 2014.
