Gisele Bündchen's connection with the fashion industry is far from over despite her retirement from the catwalk.

Two weeks after the supermodel's final runway appearance at luxury brand Colcci's show at the São Paulo Fashion Week, Bündchen posed naked on the cover of Vogue Brazil in the magazine's 40th anniversary issue for the month of May. The issue also honors the supermodel's 20th career anniversary.

The 34-year-old Brazilian beauty sizzled in the special edition as she stands on a podium, flaunting the enviable figure she is famously known for. Check out the magazine cover of Bündchen on Vogue Brazil's official site.

A second snapshot of Bündchen fully clothed inside a bathtub was also featured inside the issue, Daily Mail reported. Another image posted on the model's official Instagram page featured Bündchen displaying her flexibility by kicking her leg high up in the air. She also went topless in the photo, with a pair of red trousers covering her long legs.

A black-and-white headshot of Bündchen from the issue is also posted on the model's Instagram account. In the photo, her face and hands are shown covered by a substance resembling dirt with the caption: "When we honor the earth, we honor ourselves."

Gisele Bündchen to Retain Presence in the Fashion Industry

Bündchen's retirement from the catwalk was a huge loss, but the supermodel's stellar career is still in one piece. According to the model's representatives, fans will see Bündchen exploring other modeling opportunities in the near future.

Anne Nelson, Bündchen's agent since 1998, first at Elite and then at IMG from 1999 onwards, said that the model doesn't want to do catwalk shows anymore, but said that she was only "clos[ing] the chapter on the Brazilian runway," The New York Times reported.

Nelson also added that Bündchen "would consider every opportunity in the future" and that "the runway would not be ruled out," The New York Times wrote.

"It is important that we continue to work on all kinds of capacities within the fashion industry," Nelson said, as quoted by the news outlet. "It's also important that as her representative we bring every interesting opportunity her way."

Revealing the reason why she quit doing runway shows, Bündchen said that she has learned to listen to her body, adding that it "asked her to stop," Yahoo! News reported from AFP.

"Automatically my body tells me if what I do is worth it, and it asked to stop. I respect my body, it's a privilege to be able to stop runway work," she told the Brazilian newspaper Folha de São Paulo, Yahoo! News quoted.

Named by Forbes as the world's highest-paid model, Bündchen is also set to release a coffee table book chronicling her two-decade-long career, The New York Times wrote.
