Both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One have some solid console-exclusives at launch. But now that both consoles are available, which system has the best exclusive games currently available?

The PlayStation 4 has several impressive exclusives available, but some such as Flower and Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition are ports of games that were already available on the PlayStation 3. In addition, one of the best-reviewed console-exclusives, Resogun, has been available for free as one of the PlayStation Plus free games for November, meaning day one users could potentially play and beat the game for free. Other downloadable exclusives for the PlayStation 4 such as Contrast (which is also free in November for PlayStation Plus owners) and Super Motherload are depedable, if unspectacular, titles for the console. As for big budget exclusives, Killzone: Shadow Fall and Knack have suffered somewhat from mediocre reviews.

Meanwhile, the Xbox One has more exclusive games available now, which explains the console's prime launch selection of more quality titles and more mediocre, or even terrible, games. Dead Rising 3 and Forza Motorsport 5 in particular are two of the best next-gen games on any console, and they can only be found on the Xbox One. Another game, Killer Instinct, has decent reviews and is free to play initially. Other exclusives such Zoo Tycoon and Crimson Dragon are niche titles that can appeal to fans of their particular genres. However, the Xbox One suffers from a lack of downloadable exclusives, so users must pay for full-priced games if they want access to the Xbox One-exclusive titles.

So which console wins the exclusive game battle? It depends on what you're looking for. The PlayStation 4's main appeal at launch is a few well-known, critically-acclaimed ports and a slew of solid downloadable titles to choose from. The Xbox One, on the other hand, has many blockbuster level exclusive games available along with some exclusives that can be worthy purchases when their prices go down. So if you are looking for familiar games or smaller downloadable titles, the PlayStation 4 wins. But if you want several big name franchises to pick from, the Xbox One is the console to grab.
