In a much anticipated event where top basketball recruits announce where they will attend college, a top contender made a mistake of announcing the wrong school but quickly corrected himself.

Carlton Bragg, a 6-foot-9 forward is set to join the University of Kansas but the word that came out of his mouth on Thursday was different from what he really planned.

"The University of Kentucky. Kansas, I'm sorry," Bragg was quoted by Yahoo Sports as saying. It noted that the player immediately realized his error as he was wearing a KU hat then buried his head in his hands after it.

ESPN said in a report that Bragg got inspired by the "Late Night in the Phog" Midnight Madness celebration in Kansas last October.

"When I went to Late Night in the Phog, that's when everything changed. It was a great experience. On my visit, towards the last day, we went to coach [Bill] Self's house, we got together, hanging out. The brotherly love they have, I felt comfortable around the guys. That's when I knew I could be there," he said during the announcement.

Bragg also said that he also do not care about the minutes he will have to play in the game.

"I just want to be part of the team. Freshmen aren't supposed to be playing all the time. It doesn't matter to me. I'll be a hustler, rebounder, shooter, passer. I can fit in real good," he added.

The player is a good catch for Kansas as ESPN said that he already played for the Ohio Basketball Club on the Adidas Gauntlet circuit last spring and summer, averaging 17 points and 9.3 rebounds for the 22 games of the tournament. The report also said that he was able to contribute 13.3 points and 4.3 rebounds during the Adidas Nations last summer.

Aside from these experiences, Yahoo Sports added that Bragg also got very good dribbling skills and that he can run the floor and finish with a solid shot at the end. His talent has not remained unnoticed as he has been offered various scholarships from so many schools before he finalized his options to Kansas, Kentucky, UCLA and Illinois.

Reports also revealed that earlier this week, it was already becoming clear which university Bragg was going to choose as many people said that UCLA is already scrapped from his list because he has not yet gone to the school.

"Most recruiting analysts considered Kansas the favorite leading up to Thursday's press conference, and Bragg validated that thought process ... albeit with some unexpected drama," Yahoo Sports said in its report.

It is certain that he made some good laughing moment during the press conference but many people are already awaiting how this player will do on his newly chosen university.
