The most dysfunctional family which sprung from the 1979 novel is back to bring more incest, child abuse, poisoning, death, and everything in between. This time, the story is set to play with a new set of characters, composing the ever-controversial Dollanganger clan.

E!Online reported that Lifetime network's adaptation of the third installment will air on 2015.

"The network has just greenlighted the movie adaptation for author V.C. Andrews< third book in the Flowers in the Attic series, 'If There Be Thorns', which will premiere in 2015. And once again, both of the lead roles have been recast to star older actors," said the outlet.

The movie is produced by A+E Studios in association with Front Street Pictures, under the direction of Nancy Savoca.

So there will be recasting of the lead roles, and we bet this will turn worlds around for the third time. The Hollywood Reporter said that Jason Lewis of "Sex and the City" and "Brothers & Sisters" will take the Christopher Dollanganger role. He replaces the same role played by Mason Dye in "Flowers in the Attic" (first installment) and Wyatt Nash in "Petals on the Wind" (second installment).

Coming from "Sex and the City," Jason Lewis is known to start filming in Vancouver this October, along with the cast, as reported by Deadline.

Meanwhile, Rachael Carpani of "McLeod's Daughters" will portray Cathy Dollanganger this time, taking over the same role done by Kiernan Shipka in the first and Rose McIver in the second.

The incestuous pair has two kids in the film as in the book: Jory, a handsome and gentle 14-year-old, and Bart, a 9-year-old with an exceptional imagination. Mason Cook from "Legends" is set to play Bart. The little folks have no idea about their parents' true relationship and we wonder what would happen if they finally knew.

Goodreads gives us a tagline of the novel, which would probably be adapted in the film:

"And soon Bart's transformation began... A transformation that sprang from 'the book of secrets' the gaunt old butler had given him... a transformation fed by the hint of terrible things about his mother and father... a transformation that led him into shocking acts of violence, self-destruction and perversity."

The source lists "If There Be Thorns" under the Young Adult, Horror, Romance, Drama, Gothic, Thriller, Woman's fiction, and Mystery genres.

THR likewise spills that while the third movie is playing, the fourth book "Seeds of Yesterday" will be launching in the same year.
