Warner Bros. just can't catch a break. Every time the Justice League movie seems to be on the right track, it gets derailed. There have been issues with directors, actors, timetables, you name it.  Just last week the studio finally received some good news, reporting that Henry Cavill would sign on as Superman and that principal photography would begin in January of February, however the news is now overshadowed with a gloomy forecast once again.

While promoting "Man of Steel," Zack Snyder never let "Justice League of America" out of his sights. Even though his status as the Justice League director is up in the air, he did say that is was too soon for Superman to join the Justice League movie.

"I feel like you need to get Superman a little further down the road before you can do a 'Justice League' movie," Snyder said. The director also mentioned that if "Man of Steel" were a success, Warner Bros. would approach him to direct the Justice League film, which would put the reigns in his hands, giving him the power to adjust the proposed timetable. Perhaps his comments hint that "Man of Steel" doesn't establish Superman well enough for him to join the Justice League and that a "Man of Steel" sequel would first need to make its way to theaters.

According to a source at DC, "Justice League of America" will be released sometime in the next for years, and from the looks of it, the later side of four years sounds more realistic.

On a lighter note, Cavill is still likely to join the cast, especially if "Man of Steel" is a success. The Superman installment doesn't hit theaters until June 14, so it's still unclear if it will set the tone for the Justice League movie, however, Warner Bros. must be confident in its success if it's already brought on Cavill to play Superman. There are still many missing pieces to the "Justice League of America" puzzle, however, it's making progress, slowly but surely.
