Do you know any gas attendant who has never failed in filling up tanks for almost four decades? Now that’s one who deserves the annual most dedicated employee award. And he can be found in Dallas by the name of Mr Ebbie Lee Jennings.

The old man has been working as a gas attendant for 40 years on Cole Ave. for the Dunlap-Swain Tire Co. Inc. All the loyal customers of the gas station along with his colleagues considering him like their own family. Most of them call him by his nickname, Lee.

It was in 2009 when the 68-year-old Jennings attempted to retire but according to the business owner, Jack Swain Jr., Lee just could not stop himself from attending to customers who come to the station.

Lee has been working too long for the station that he was able to watch a lot of local kids grow up as adults already in the neighborhood. He could not forget how parents of teens will ask him to put a limit to their teen’s amount of gas to be filled so that the young girls and gals won’t abuse their parents’ credit cards. As for adults, Lee has always been helpful too with their every kind of car trouble.

As reward for all his kindness, the nice old man has received four cars as gifts from four of his dearest customers.

Who Is Ebbie Lee Jennings?

Lee grew up in a big Texas family with 5 sisters and 6 brothers. As a young boy, he had polio which did not last long when his dad brought him to a country woman healer. It was in 1969 when he first came to Dallas from Pittsburg and first worked for Sewell Cadillas. And then he was recruited for a work in Dunlap-Swain. It was the perfect job for Lee since he loved interacting with different kinds of people.
