Following the success of 2012's "Snow White and The Huntsman," the global hit is finally going to be granted a sequel.

According to The Wrap, original cast lead Kristen Stewart is expected to make an appearance in the second installment, although in a smaller capacity, where she will no longer be the lead female character.

This is because the film will be focusing on the character and story of the Huntsman, played by Chris Hemsworth. Given the focus on the male persona, it's possible that the title will only carry "The Huntsman" and drop the "Snow White" mention to draw a larger focus on the primary character.

The news outlet also revealed that there will be a change in leadership. Frank Darabont, creator of "Walking Dead," is in talks to take the reigns of the film. "Darabont has not received an official offer yet but is expected to engage with the project when one does materialize, as Universal and producer Joe Roth are high on his take for the sequel/spinoff. He beat out Gavin O'Connor ("Warrior") and Andy Muschietti ("Mama") for the high-profile gig, wrote The Wrap.

Darabont is a well known Hollywood director, which Just Jared notes, was also involved in other movies including "The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, and The Majestic."

"Snow White and the Huntsman" exceeded expectations which were pegged at $170 million and raked in a much larger $400 million globally, writes CinemaBlend

While Stewart remains to be seen on the silver screen, the original film runner, director Rupert Sanders, was axed from the show. The 2012 film was riddled with controversy as it was confirmed that Stewart, 22, had an affair with a married Sanders, 41.

Stewart said in a statement, during the height of the scandal, "I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected," recalls The Daily Mail. "This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob." She continued, "I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry," Stewart said in a statement.

During the time of the affair, Stewart had a very public relationship with her "Twilight" co-star, Robert Pattinson.

Meanwhile, another original cast member, who will be appearing in the film, is the evil queen brought to life by South African beauty Charlize Theron.

What're your thoughts on a Chris Hemsworth-dominated sequel? Are you glad to have less Kristen or happy to have more of Chris?
