Friday is a big day for AT&T, with more than a couple of the newest smartphones and phablets launching on the U.S. network. One of those highly anticipated smartphones is the HTC One mini, which is being released today.

The HTC One mini is launching on AT&T Friday, August 23, for $99.99 with a two-year contract. "Our customers loved the HTC One, so we are excited to offer this slimmer, more compact version," said Jeff Bradley, senior vice president of Devices at AT&T. "We're proud to continue to offer our customers so many choices with a broad smartphone portfolio all on the nation's fastest and most reliable 4G LTE network."

The HTC One mini is a slightly smaller version of the HTC One, with a 4.3-inch Super LCD 2 HD display with 720p resolution. It runs on a dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400, clocked at 1.4GHz with 1GB of RAM assisting.

The HTC One mini has several other features, which look very nice under a $100 price tag as well. It shares the HTC One's "Ultrapixel" camera - a 4-megapixel shooter that the Taiwanese phone manufacturer says can outperform 13-megapixel cameras in low-light environments. The HTC One mini also comes with Android 4.2.2 out of the box, with HTC's custom UI layered over it and some HTC-only software, too. You'll get HTC BlinkFeed - the scrolling content aggregator that pulls news updates and photos from more than 10,000 feeds and shows them on customizable live tiles. You'll get HTC Zoe, which is HTC's proprietary photo software, giving you automatically edited 30-second video highlights from your gallery, as well as lots of editing options. And you'll get HTC BoomSound, the front-facing amplified stereo speakers which are unique to the HTC One and HTC One mini.

The HTC One mini will run on AT&T's 4G LTE network, which is planned to expand into 50 additional markets by the end of the year, giving you more coverage for your new mini flagship phone. The HTC One mini is available now online and in stores.
