Although rapper-turned-pastor Mase has established a successful marriage ministry with his wife, it looks like the two are heading for divorce.

Mase, who was born Mason Betha and is a pastor at the El Elyon International Church in Atlanta, filed for divorce from his wife of 12 years Twyla on Jan. 2, according to documents obtained by TMZ. The 38-year-old former hip-hop star cited irreconcilable differences for the divorce, is reportedly seeking full custody of their two children and is asking her to pay him child support.

Ironically, he and Twyla, the co-pastor of his church, have published a book called "What Do You Do After I Do?" and released a series sharing secrets of a "successful marriage," reports AccessAtlanta.com.

In his January divorce petition, the ex-Bad Boy rapper claims they separated in August 2013. However, about a month later on Feb. 13, Mase inexplicably had a change of heart and filed to dismiss his divorce petition.

After dropping two hip-hop albums under P. Diddy's Bad Boy record label in the 90's, Mase announced that he was retiring from the music industry in 1999. In 2000, he was ordained as the Rev. Mason Betha. However, he has tried to make a musical comeback several times during the past few years.

Last year he and Lil Wayne were featured on the L.E.P. Bogus Boys song "Commas," and in October, Mase announced that he is releasing another album called "Now We Even," in which he hopes to collaborate with  Lauryn Hill, Cee Lo, 2 Chainz and Seal.
