Before the Denver Broncos squared off with the Seattle Seahawks on Super Bowl Sunday, the Fox News cable network aired a face-off between conservative TV host Bill O’Reilly and President Obama.

During the 10-minute interview, O’Reilly questioned the president on a number of issues and concerns that continue to be pushed by Fox News, including the botched rollout of the Affordable Care Act last October, the death of an American ambassador in Benghazi and the IRS scandal.

President Obama remained calm and answered the questions clearly and concisely, although tension between the two was evident at a number of points.

The first confrontation occurred when O’Reilly began the interview by asking why Obama hadn’t fired Health Secretary Kathleen Sebelius over the Obamacare debut. The president pointed out the benefits of the health overhaul, but O’Reilly wouldn’t drop the issue.

“I’m a taxpayer. And I’m paying Kathleen Sebelius’ salary and she screwed up. And you’re not holding her accountable,” he said.

Obama responded using humor when O’Reilly asked whether his touts about Obamacare was his biggest mistake, sayin “Bill, you’ve got a long list of my mistakes." He also added, “I try to focus not on fumbles but on the next play.”

In the next question O’Reilly tried unsuccessfully to find out whether former Pentagon chief Leon Panetta had told Obama that the assault was specifically a "terrorist attack." However, after being interrupted, the president said: “Bill, and I’m trying to explain it to you if you want to listen.”

The president also bashed the right-leaning network for harboring on minor issues, telling O’Reilly said that “your detractors” believe that “your campaign” didn’t want the true Benghazi story out. “They believe it because folks like you are telling them that,” Obama said, adding that the charge was inaccurate.
