If your teams aren't in the Super Bowl this year, or if you're simply not a football fan, there is an always entertaining, ridiculously adorable alternative: The Puppy Bowl.

The Puppy Bowl is returning to Animal Planet for the 10th year in a row as the furriest, cutest event of the year.

The most adorable event of the sports season features cute puppies of different breeds bouncing up and down the field with chew toys and a toy football. Occasionally, the football is actually pushed into the goal, but that's not really the point of the game. The point of the game is to squeal with delight while watching the adorable pups be, well, adorable.

This year, the starting lineup includes a Lab/Terrier mix, a Poodle named Alvin whose "favorite color is raspberry," a Boxer, a Dalmatian, an American Eskimo named Brody, a Spaniel who "thinks fatherhood has mellowed Kanye," a Great Pyrenees, a Bassett Hound who "tries not to step on her own ears," and many others. There are 38 "Starting Lineup" puppies in all, as well a number of "Back Up Pups."

There will even be penguin cheerleaders to cheer on the athletic puppies, as well as a hamster blimp getting aerial shots of the game.

And then there's one of the most anticipated aspects of the Puppy Bowl: the kitten halftime show.

The show's cuteness level will go through the roof as frisky, curious kittens jump and play on the field. This year, there's also an anticipated addition to the halftime show: viral video sensation "Keyboard Cat."

There are 30 kitties who are partaking in the event, including a calico named Alexa who "thinks Billy Joel wrote Downeaster 'Alexa'" just for her, a tabby cat named Bert, and many other gray, black and multicolored kitty cats.

So if you're an animal lover, tune into Animal Planet on Sunday, Feb. 2 at 3 p.m. to see the fur fly.
