Texas Christian University in Fort Worth held a double event over the past week, performing the annual Latin Music Festival with the school's orchestra and faculty as well as hosting the 2014 National convention of the Collegiate Orchestra Director's Association (CODA).

The event featured performances from Jan. 23-28 on the TCU campus. Guest artists visiting the school included Daniel Binelli, Polly Ferman, Maria Luisa Harth-Bedoya, Ney Rosauro and the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra.

On Thursday, guest percussionist Ney Rosauro joined TCU grad student Mike Olsen for a percussive performance directed by Richard Gipson and Andrew Eldridge.

The following afternoon Andrew Binelli and Polly Ferman performed in the afternoon followed by the TCU Symphony Orchestra in the evening joined by the guest artists and including Maria Luisa Harth-Bedoya.

On Saturday evening the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, directed by Miguel Harth-Bedoya performed at the Bass Perfomrance Hall.

Monday evening saw a recital held by Maria Luisa Harth-Bedoya and Michael Shih, Vicotria Luperi and Luchy Harth-Bedoya and the event finished with the TCU Faculty Recital on Tuesday which included performances by Jesus Castro-Balbi, Shauna Thompson, Colleen Mallette, Chip Christ, Joey Carter, Blaise Ferrandino  and Janet Pummill.

One exception to the Latin performances originating from Brazil (where compser Marlos Nobre was watching via internt) was the World premiere presentation of the "Song of Eternity" composed by Mark Dal Porto, the winner of the 2013 International CODA Composition Contest. The piece was performed by the TCU orchestra, which members of CODA present in the balcony of the Ed Landreth auditorum.
