The 2014 Call of Duty Championship has been set to begin in March, and the winning team of the tournament will walk away with a $1 million prize. Here is the calendar of the Call of Duty tournament. 

The tournament will be played on the newest game in the Call of Duty franchise, Call of Duty: Ghosts, and for the first time the tournament will be played on the Xbox One console. However, before the big tournament, there will be many different qualifying tournaments held around the world on the Xbox 360. Many preliminary matches will be held in January, and in February regional finals will take place to determine the 32 teams that will compete in the finals in Los Angeles. When the finalists are determined, there will be 32 teams from around the world competing for the $1 million prize; 13 teams from North America, 13 from Europe, four from Asia, one team from Africa and one from the Middle East. This international tournament will be quite the sight to see. Those wishing to watch the action will be able to livestream the tournament from March 28 through March 30.

According to Activision, this will be the first official Call of Duty: Ghosts tournament that will offer prize money on the Xbox One. There was similar tournament held last year with the previous installment of the Call of Duty series, Black Ops 2.

Call of Duty: Ghosts was released in November, and became one of the most popular launch titles for both the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4. The game was heavily hyped along with the new consoles, especially by Microsoft, who has an exclusive agreement with Activision so that the DLC for Call of Duty: Ghosts appears first on the Xbox 360 and Xbox One. The game includes an epic single-player campaign that features Riley, the dog squadmate that quickly won over many of the game's fans and became an Internet sensation. In addition, the game features many new multiplayer modes that longtime Call of Duty fans will appreciate.
