After creating his own studio called Kojima Productions, "Metal Gear" creator Hideo Kojima has reportedly begun working on a game which will be exclusive to Sony's PS4.

ArsTechnica noted that with this news, it has become clear that Kojima's working relationship with Konami has already ended.

Quoting a Nikkei news article from Japan, the same report revealed that Kojima left the company last Dec. 15 and then proceeded to work on his Kojima Productions studio, whose first title is said to be the Sony exclusive.

Over the past months, the falling out between the Metal Gear creator and his former company has been rumored, especially with the removal and replacement of Kojima's name on previous Metal Gear titles.

An earlier Kotaku report indicated the removal of the Kojima Productions brand from the upcoming game has prompted Konami to apologize to its gamers last July.

"In accordance with the recent change in production organization of all of Konami, Kojima Productions, as well as other internal production companies, has had its name, etc., changed to move into the corporate headquarters work structure," the company was quoted by the same report as saying.

In a recent interview with the New Yorker, Kojima revealed that he considered going to a deserted island for a year after leaving Konami, but was advised by a friend that it was not a good idea. The same friend reportedly told him to continue with that he had started.

"Hearing that affirmed to me that my role in this world is to keep on making big games for as long as I can. That is the mission I've been given in life," he added.

The future still looks very bright for Kojima, as Sony Computer Entertainment president Andrew House confirmed via YouTube the company's collaboration with Kojima to create a game which will be exclusive to Sony.

He, however, clarified that the video game designer's new company is not a subsidiary of Sony, and that other future creations of Kojima will not be exclusive to the company.

The partnership, according to Forbes, will be a good thing for both parties since "Kojima is free to do his own thing and Sony gets a big-name game to themselves (even if said game isn't actually named yet)."

It also highlighted that delays in the PS4 exclusive of Kojima could be a big factor in the success of the partnership in the coming years, since the gaming industry is changing fast and coping to developments in technology.
