Nike is expected to make a lot of noise this weekend as they are set to release the latest editions of the signature shoes from superstars Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers and Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The Nike Kobe VI will be re-released in what is dubbed as the "Prelude" edition of the model on Jan. 11, at select Nike accounts worldwide. Nike also announced that this impressive-looking shoe will be available on a limited basis and will retail at $200 per pair.

Officially listed as the cannon/volt-purple venom-turf orange colorway of the shoe, this edition features a unique snake skin-like upper part that is attributed to Bryant's "Black Mamba" nickname. This edition is also known as the "All Star MVP" version, as it was inspired by Bryant's MVP performance during the 2011 NBA All-Star Game.

The Zoom Kobe VI "All-Star MVP" is one of the eight shoes that are included in the "Prelude Pack" that serves as Nike's special curtain raiser for the highly-anticipated release of the Kobe 9 Elite, which will debut in what is called as "Masterpiece" edition on Feb. 8 for $225 per pair.

The last two models included in the Prelude Pack are also slated for release this month. The Kobe VII System will be released on Jan. 18 for $200 per pair, while the Kobe 8 System will hit shelves on Jan. 25 for $200 per pair as well.

Meanwhile, Durant's signature kicks are also expected to get a lot of attention this weekend as it hits the market in a simple yet striking colorway - black/volt-vivid blue-dark grey.

Dubbed as the "Away II" edition of the KD VI, this edition sports a black-based Hyperfuse upper part. Vivid blue hints appear on the tongue, lining, and KD branding, while the volt hints were incorporated on the Nike Swoosh logo and sole of the sneaker.

The latest addition to the Nike KD line will also come out on Jan. 11, and will retail at $130 per pair as reported by solecollector.
