The transition of former Olympian Bruce Jenner into her new persona "Caitlyn" has been widely publicized in the recent months but her former wife Kris still finds it hard to accept the reality.

People said that a sneak peak on the new episode of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians," showed Kris trying to fight back teas as she go through Jenner's old clothes with the help of daughter Kim Kardashian.

"Caitlyn let me take this," Kardashian was quoted telling her mother as she dropped a few of the former Olympian's polo shirts and jackets.

Her mother reportedly responded with "I didn't have the nerve to open the bag," as she tried to wiped away the tears from her eyes.

She also smelled a velvet jacket that belonged to Jenner and remembered how his scent was.

"I think going through something like this is difficult because the whole thing is something I've never dealt with before, and I realize that I still have a long way to go before I can process all of this and understand it. And seeing these clothes and realizing that Bruce has thrown them out makes it real," the 59-year-old Kris added.

In addition, US Magazine said that the Kardashian matriarch had a hard time "letting go" of her former husband who finally decided to come out as a transgender woman in April in an exclusive interview with ABC's Diane Sawyer.

"It's just crazy that he's gone. He's gone," Kris aded.

But this was quickly disputed by Kim who said "No, he's not."

In a recent development, CNN said that a judge already ruled that Jenner can make her gender and name change legitimate.

It noted that the "I am Cait" star filed her papers earlier this month and asked that her name be legally changed to Caitlyn Marie Jenner who is recognized as a woman.

Her petition has reportedly been granted last Friday by Los Angeles Superior Court spokeswoman Liz Martinez.

When Jenner earlier accepted her Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPYs, stood up for all those transgenders who are faced with the challenge of accepting themselves and letting others accept them in return.

"If you want to call me names, make jokes, doubt my intentions, go ahead. Because the reality is, I can take it. But for the thousands of kids out there coming to terms with being true to who they are, they shouldn't have to take it," Jenner was quoted by CNN as saying.

The 65-year-old now stars in "I am Cait," a series which focuses her transition into a woman.
