Sony Xperia Z5 vs Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus: Which is Better? Specs, Features & Price Review

Smartphones from different tech companies are designed to enhance user experience, which is why these mobile devices are being pitted against each other for functionality and effectiveness.

The Sony Xperia Z5 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus are two of the smartphones said to be in competition in the tech industry. Here's how the two devices compare with each other.

Design & Display

The Xperia Z5 comes in with a 5.2" FHD 1080p (1920x1080) screen display, with an array of colors -- graphite black, white, gold, and green -- to choose from, Sony's official site reported.

The Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, which is said to be the Galaxy S6 Edge's bigger version, will come bearing a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED screen display at 2560 x 1440 (518 ppi) resolution, Samsung's webpage wrote.

As expected, the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus' design bears close resemblance to its smaller twin. The two smartphones' similarities include the curved glass display panel, machined metal outer shell, and glass bodywork on the front and back, Know Your Mobile wrote.

According to Samsung, the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus' Adaptive Screen makes images appear to be popping out. The smartphone's slim design also makes holding the device easier, and its breakthrough dual edge display makes users consistently engaged.

Processor, Memory Storage, Battery, and Operating System

Sony's Xperia Z5 is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 paired with Adreno 430 GPU and 64-bit Octa Core processor. It has 3GB of RAM, 2900mAh battery, and up to 32GB flash memory and 200GB microSD card. Android Lollipop 5.1 serves as its operating system, Sony indicated on their site.

The Galaxy S6 Edge Plus runs using the Android Lollipop 5.1, Samsung added. Other features include the Exynos 7420 chip, 4GB RAM, NFC and MST connectivity, a 3000mAh battery, and 32GB or 64GB storage variants.

Camera and Other Features

As for its camera, the Xperia Z5 is equipped with a 1/2.3'' 23 MP Sony Exmor RS primary shooter, which has 4K video recording, Pulse LED Flash, video stabilization, Hybrid Autofocus, and the Steady Shot with Intelligent Active Mode feature, Sony's official site listed. The handset's front camera, on the other hand, is at 5MP.

The Galaxy S6 Edge Plus has a 16MP primary camera and a 5MP front shooter, with the former capable of shooting 4K/UHD video.

Price

Android Pit wrote that the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, which was made available in stores on Aug. 21, starts selling around $800. Accoding to Engadget, the Xperia Z5 can be purchased starting at $900.
