After running into some technical delays, Verizon has finally released the highly-anticipated Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for the HTC One smartphone.

The HTC One Android 4.3 update, software build version 2.10.605.1, is currently rolling out over the air, although as usual, not everybody will immediately receive a download notification. Those that do, however, will want to have their HTC One charged and tethered to a Wi-Fi connection, as the upgrade weighs in at a hefty 469MB.

On top of the usual security and performance improvements that come with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, Verizon states the update resolves the following key issues: "increased charging speed when using Mophie Juicepack power station, corrected faint ringing noise from the earpiece, play purchased ringtones, connection error fixed in the HTC Watch application, view the correct date using the all day calendar reminder, conjunction words are better recognized on device keyboard, and Backup Assistant performance."

Verizon has also courteously thrown in some bloatware in the form of VZ Cloud and users will find they can now add music to their Video Highlights with ease.

Verizon is the last major U.S. carrier to have released Android 4.3 Jelly Bean for its respective HTC One. Carriers AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint all pushed out their updates back in November, when it was also revealed that, due to technical issues, Verizon would not push out the upgrade until December.

HTC has confirmed that it hopes to have all HTC Ones in the United States — including Verizon models — upgraded to Android 4.4 KitKat by the end of January. If all goes well, that means HTC One owners can expect another shiny new firmware in around one month.
