A bunch of devices have received the new Android Lollipop 5.0.1 and 5.0.2 updates.

Nexus 9

Majority of Nexus devices have been upgraded to the most recent Android 5.1.1 build, but Nexus 9 was still stuck on 5.0.1 until it was recently announced that the smartphone is getting the small 23.3 MB 5.0.2 OTA update, 9to5Google reported. Check out the factory image here.

Nexus 7

The Nexus 7 2012 and Nexus 7 2013 are also getting their Android 5.1.1 updates. Gotta Be Mobile wrote that the file is a measly 18 MB in size.

The Android 5.1.1 update will be able to provide bug fixes and resolve memory leak problems that cause app crashes and random reboots in the Nexus 7 handset, Gotta Be Mobile listed. Samsung Galaxy Note Edge

Samsung's Galaxy Note Edge is also getting an OTA update for T-Mobile subscribers.

According to Android Community, the carrier will now provide Galaxy Note Edge owners the Android 5.0.2 OTA update, which includes new features such as locked screen notifications, Material Design, and better UI.

Those who own the curved-screen mobile with other carriers have received the update almost a month ago, Android Community noted. The size of the update is 1.84 GB.

Motorola Phones

Know Your Mobile claimed that second generation versions of Moto G mobiles in the UK will be equipped with the Android 5.0.2.

For the 2013 version of the Moto G, Android Pit reported that versions 5.0 and 5.0.2 of the Android Lollipop will be available in India. Tech Droider also featured photos of Android 5.1 on the Moto G second generation. As for the first and second generations of the Moto X, we previously reported that an update for the Android 5.1 is still not on hand yet.

According to PC Advisor, Android 5.1 is expected to be "a large update, returning the silent mode missing from Android 5.0, improving system stability, RAM management battery management, fixing sudden app closures, Wi-Fi problems, and sound problems."

The 5.1 update will also include more support for dual-SIM card slots, and will allow users to join Wi-Fi networks and control paired Bluetooth devices directly from the Quick Settings section of the notification bar, PC Advisor noted.

Sony Xperia Z Series

International Business Times reported that Sony's Xperia Z2 and Z3 series will receive the update for the Lollipop 5.0. The tech giant announced that the firmware is a software patch and is expected to fix the no-service bug in the Lock and Home screens, as well as easy transfer of apps from phone memory to SD card and performance enhancements.
