The Thief reboot currently in the works from Eidos Montreal is one of the most-anticipated games of 2014, and now an insider working on the game has revealed what platform the game will look best on, and the answer may surprise you.

Jean-Normand Bucci, art technical director for the game, recently discussed various technical aspects of the game with DSOGaming. When asked about the advantages the new PlayStation 4 and Xbox One bring to the table, Bucci praised the machines, but gave the PC the advantage overall:

"The new consoles are very strong, very powerful. They allow for much more than what a console gamer is used to. The gap between PC and next gen has massively reduced for sure. The new consoles and high-end PC offer better frame rate, higher resolution, and many new features along with DX11 support."

Bucci also explained why the PC version of Thief will be the best one available.

"The PC version will support all the graphical features of the next-gen consoles with numerous improvements, including even better anti-aliasing, higher resolution shadows and support for multi-monitor. Thief on PC will also be amongst the first batch of games that support AMD's new Mantle API for high performance graphics. A FOV slider and mouse sensitivity options will be included in the game. We don't apply acceleration or smoothing to our mouse based camera controls - we want you to have direct control of Garrett's POV."

Despite Bucci's revealing interview, he stopped short of providing specs for the game.

"We're still working hard to optimize the performance of Thief on PC across the board so it's therefore not yet possible to pin down the final minimum requirements, but we want as many people as possible to be able to enjoy the game," said Bucci.

Thief will be available on Feb. 25 for the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PC. There will be no Wii U version available to those who have the Nintendo console. The game is a reboot of the series rather than a fourth entry in the series, and will feature the return of Garrett as the thief tries to loot the houses of the wealthy in a dreary noir inspired medieval town.
