With "Avengers: Age of Ultron" coming to theaters very soon, it's time for Marvel to make plans for the next installment - the two-part film for "Avengers: Infinity War."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Joss Whedon is giving up the reins, but rest assured, the film will be in good hands with the Russo brothers, Joe and Anthony, helming the project. The Russo brothers were the ones who directed last year's "Captain America: Winter Soldier" and are also set to direct "Captain America: Civil War," which will begin filming next month.

Although there are no writers attached to "Infinity War" just yet, the outlet reckons that the brothers will likely team up with Christopher Markis and Stephen McFeely, whom they previously worked with in "Winter Soldier."

Variety noted that with the "Infinity War" films under their belt, the Russo brothers will be the most that the company has ever committed to, as Whedon only directed two of the Avengers films, while Jon Favreau has two "Iron Man" films under his belt.

However, due to the commitment that "Infinity Wars" will undoubtedly demand from its production, it is highly unlikely that the brothers will have time to direct a film in between, with the first part of "Infinity War" set to be released in 2018, and the second part in 2019.

The Russo brothers, according to the Los Angeles Times Hero Complex, were originally a left-field choice for Marvel's Cinematic Universe considering that their previous films lean more towards comedy ("You, Me and Dupree," and "Arrested Development") but they proved their range of directing skills when they delivered the biggest critical and commercial hit for the company with "Winter Soldier."

The Russos recently signed a three-year first-look deal with Sony Pictures, and with it comes a "Ghostbusters" film with Channing Tatum. It was also revealed in the leaked emails from last year that they are signed on to produce the next Spider-Man film, but has since gone to Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige.

In another Variety report, the brothers stated: "We're thrilled to make a home at Sony Pictures, and to be partnering with the entire team. The studio has created an environment that is not only collaborative, but truly filmmaker-friendly and we're excited to begin developing both new and ambitious material with them."

What do you think of the Russo Brothers directing the "Infinity War" movies?
