Sales for one of Apple's latest smartphones are proving to be better at this point of the year than for the iPhone 5 last year.

According to Forbes, data provided by Fiksu shows iOS usage through its SDK. The data collected shows the iPhone 5s has more usage than the iPhone 5, 68 days following its launch.

Fiksu's data indicated the iPhone 5s accounted for 7.66 percent of all iPhone usage, which is higher than the 6.28 percent the iPhone 5 represented during the same time period in 2012.

"This isn't too surprising since the 5s has had better availability than the 5 at the same point in time post-launch and helps to demonstrate that the 5s isn't having any major manufacturing issues," noted Forbes' Contributor Chuck Jones.

The Forbes contributor stated the delayed shipment times for the iPhone 5s were reduced quicker than the iPhone 5. The iPhone 5s shipment delays dropped from one and two weeks to three and five days by the time Nov. 18 arrived. For the iPhone 5, however, it took 10 weeks for the iPhone 5's shipment delays to decrease from one week, to two, to four days.

"This is consistent with other reports that suggest the iPhone 5s is selling better than the iPhone 5 and that Apple is finally catching up with demand," reported BGR's Ben Zigterman. "An earlier report suggested that 90 [percent] of all iPhone 5s models are now available at Apple stores, which is 0.8 [percent] higher than the iPhone 5 a year ago."

The iPhone 5s features specifications similar to the discontinued iPhone 5, such as the 4-inch Retina Display with 1,136x640 resolution, 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, 1080p HD video recording camera, to name a few. The iPhone 5s, however, features a larger f/2.2 aperture for the rear-facing camera with the aim of improving low-light photography. The iPhone 5s utilizes the A7 processor chip with 64-bit architecture, which plays a critical role with the Touch ID.
