Despite some technical issues that have cropped up after its Nov. 15 release, the PlayStation 4 is enjoying a fairly smooth launch. While many are still delving into the different features available on the console, a new bundle for the PlayStation 4 seeks to help attract fans by packaging it with the handheld PlayStation Vita.

The news comes from MCV, which notes that this new bundle will be available before Christmas. However, it was only been confirmed as to coming to the United Kingdom, so users in the United States and elsewhere will have to buy them separately.

The PlayStation Vita, which has its own library of games, can be used as a controller for the PlayStation 4. This can give users second screen features, much like the Wii U Gamepad. In addition, players can use the Vita for remote play for many PlayStation 4 games. This means you can stream and play the game on the Vita and and use the television for watching television or other activities without having to stop playing the game. Combining the Vita and PlayStation 4 opens up a much bigger potential user base for these features.

While this new PlayStation 4 bundle was confirmed for the United Kingdom, no price tag was attached to the bundle, so it remains to be seen how much money players will save by buying the machines together. Nonetheless, Senior Product Manager Ben Law is excited about the move and the renewed focus that Sony is putting on the Vita:

"We're really excited for Vita as we move into Christmas...We've got a great campaign with key messaging around new releases like Tearaway, the ever-growing game catalogue and the Remote Play service."

Hopefully this brings in a larger fan base for the PlayStation Vita, which has trailed behind the Nintendo 3DS in terms of sales for quite some time now. That may not be saying much, however, as the Nintendo 3DS has consistently outsold most consoles throughout 2013 until the recent launches of the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Look out for more news on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on The Latino Post as both Sony products get ready for the holiday season and 2014.
