After months of swirling rumors about him being cast as Aquaman in the upcoming "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" movie, Jason Momoa finally speaks up on his newest superhero role to portray.

The Hawaii-born actor expressed his excitement over the matter during the the recently held Walker Stalker Con in Atlanta, states Screenrant.

Meanwhile, in a Twitter post by TheAquamanShrine the actor said, "I'm very excited to be a part of it. Zack Snyder is a genius."

The same account also posted a photo of the actor holding a comic book issue featuring Aquaman with caption that read: "Jason @PrideofGypsies Momoa is just catching up by reading some classic AQUAMAN this weekend."

According to WeGotThisCovered, Momoa tried so hard to keep mum about his upcoming role when news about it first surfaced.

"It's been a B*TCH! Just dodging, you know, because I was asked to play it and the fact is you just have to keep it quiet, out of respect for Warner Bros. and their whole position. So now I don't have to be quiet anymore. It was REALLY hard for me."

But now that the cat is out of the bag, he couldn't contain his excitement.

"The greatest thing for me, is that Polynesians have all these water gods, so it's really cool that I'll be playing a character... there's not too many brown superheroes. So I'm looking forward to representing the Polynesians and Natives and I think it's really cool to have this chance. My family are some of the greatest hunters, I'm going to train with my family. I'm very excited to be a part of it, Zack Snyder is a genius."

Many fans are hopeful that in the months to come, more relevant information will emerge about his role and how Snyder will bring Aquaman to life through Momoa.

The "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" cast also includes Ben Affleck as Batman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and Jeremy Iron as Alfred among others.

The movie will be shown in theaters starting March 25, 2016. Fans who were not able to attend the recent Comic Con this year still awaits the release of the movie's official trailer.

Momoa's 'GoT' trending audition clip

Meanwhile, the 35-year-old star's Khal Drogo audition clip in the HBO hit series "Game of Thrones" is now making its rounds online.

It shows the "Road to Paloma" actor/director/producer/writer doing the Haka, which is an old ritual usually done as preparation for battle.

If you're a fan of the New Zealand All Blacks, then you'd know about it as the rugby team does the same ritual before they start the games.
