And the leaks just keep on coming. More photos surfaced over the weekend and today reportedly showing the next Nexus handset from Google, the Nexus X. Spec Details of the device were also allegedly revealed over the weekend and if they're true it means Google is finally getting into giant phone territory with the Nexus X reportedly sporting a 5.92-inch display. That's bigger than the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (5.7-inch display) and the iPhone 6 Plus (5.5-inch display).

The new photo that surfaced today was posted by Android Police, and while the photo is so dark you can scarcely make out the frame of the device, several on-screen clues hint that this might indeed be the next Nexus handset. As you can see in the photo above, the build number includes the word 'shamu,' which is reportedly Google's codename for the Nexus X. The photo also reveals the device to be running Android L, the latest version of Google's mobile OS, due out next month.

9to5Google also leaked a photo purportedly showing the Nexus X, and what is interesting about the photo is that it appears to resemble a giant version of the 2014 Moto X. This would give credibility to the rumors that Motorola is building the next Nexus phone.

Specs

The Nexus X is rumored to have a 5.92-inch qHD display, most likely running at a resolution of 2560 x 1440. 3GB of RAM is also supposed to be on board alongside either a Snapdragon 805 or 801 processor. Google is also reportedly finally including a high-end camera in this year's Nexus with a 13 megapixel shooter on the back. A 3,200 mAh battery and 32GB of on board storage round out what should be an impressive feature set.

Release Date

Look for the Nexus X to be announced very soon, perhaps even in the first two weeks of October. Last year's Nexus 5 was released on Oct. 31 without much fanfare from Google, so expect the Nexus X to be available for purchase at least by then. Expect to pay anywhere from $450 to $550 USD at launch for the Nexus X. Given that the device appears to have top of the line specs across the board--a welcome change from past models that seemed to sacrifice specs in order to keep cost down--this year's device should cost significantly more than last year's $450 32GB Nexus 5.
