Apple launches its latest iPhone models and next version of iOS this week, but it isn't even close to being done unveiling new toys before the holiday rush. The tech giant will reportedly announce two new iPad models and the new OSX Yosemite operating system late next month on Oct. 21.

According to Reuters, Apple should use next month's event to show off it's 6th generation iPad (iPad Air 2), the iPad mini 3 and, of course, its next desktop and laptop OS, Yosemite. Yosemite is a larger update to the home OS, relatively speaking, and should look quite different than the current version of OSX.

Not much has changed as far as design goes for the new iPads' hardware. The full-size iPad Air sequel will sport a 9.7-inch display, and the iPad mini 3 will have a 7.9-inch display. Reuters also reports, via Bloomberg, that Apple is launching its new iPads closer to the holiday season as a way of ramping up what they hope is a successful end of the year sales period.

Apple reportedly sold more than 13 million iPads last quarter, and though impressive, it was expected to sell closer to 14 million. Splitting hairs, right? Apparently not.

It's been a busy fall for Apple so far, and it's going to get busier. Last week, Apple unveiled their new iPhone lineup and began taking pre-orders for this weeks' release on Friday. So far, both pre-orders and critical reviews to the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have been overwhelmingly positive. Apple says that it broke its previous pre-order records last week when the iPhone became available for pre-order.

Apple also made two huge announcements last week with Apple Pay and the Apple Watch. Apple Pay is a mobile payment method that will allow users to make transactions with their phone or Apple Watch. And the Apple Watch is, of course, Apple's first smartwatch, which is expected to launch sometime early next year.
