If there's one thing that Star Wars has taught us, it's that no one is truly dead until the camera actually shows it. There have been a slew of close calls where children clutched at their parents' arms, only to find that Luke Skywalker was able to survive the fall. Using that as background information, it makes sense that the reappearance of a certain villain might make it into Star Wars Episode VII and VIII.

According to the Latino Review, two independent sources have confirmed that Emperor Palpatine will make an appearance as the overall villain in the upcoming trilogy. Palpatine was always a subtle character, but in the scenes where he engaged in combat, it was a truly frightening sight.

The last we saw of the Emperor he was being carried by Darth Vader and thrown off into a large space like tunnel. Common logic would say that he very well should have died, but as Star Wars has displayed time and time again, no one is ever truly dead until their lifeless face is captured on screen.

Alongside the Emperor, Darth Vader will also make a celebrity appearance in the new Star Wars movie, except in a flashback format. No, Darth Vader did not somehow survive his injuries, as we know you're all hoping. Some characters are just too good to let go of, such as Obi Wan Kenobi in his recurring role as a force-like mentor to the young Luke Skywalker. We can thank Kenobi for his key advice when Skywalker was flying over the Death Star trying to land the perfect shot.

It will be interesting to see how much of the 'old' will be mixed in the 'new.' The classic Star War fans will want a great deal of reprisals for the new trilogy while the next legion of young Star Wars fans might want a completely new take on where the series is set to land.

What is certain is that Star Wars has never disappointed when it comes to its villains. Whether it's Boba Fett, Jabba the Hutt, General Grievous or Darth Maul, Star Wars is one of the best at making a complex villain with an impressive set of skills.
