Little League Series star Mo'ne Davis who became an instant sports celebrity two weeks ago, revealed that her real love is actually basketball.

Davis became the cover of Sports Illustrated when she threw a shutout for the Taney Dragons in the Little League World Series. But according to Yahoo Sports, her real ambition is to be part of the University of Connecticut basketball team then play in the WNBA.

Yahoo Sports unearthed a 2010 video of the 13-year-old star playing hoops with the Anderson Monarchs in Philadelphia and it seemed that Davis could do the crossover just like Allen Iverson.

The clip showed how Davis crosses a girl over before passing the ball to one of her teammates. Complex said that they were not sure if the teammate was able to make the shot after the pass but noted that this is already irrelevant compared to what Davis did.

The crossover has been the signature basketball move of Iverson. The NBA player loves to dribble the ball then switch it rapidly from one hand to another.

The child wonder rose to fame when she graced the cover of Sports Illustrated two weeks ago. According to Sydney Morning Herald, Davis, a pitcher with 112km/h fastball record, is the first in the Little League to land in the SI magazine cover.

"Last week, this week, maybe next week, she's owned the sports conversation. How often do you get to say this about a 13-year-old girl? It's the easiest type of story to identify as a cover story," said Sports Illustrated manager editor Chris Stone.

Sydney Morning Herald noted that Davis is the first female pitcher to release a shutout in the Little League World series when the Dragons stunned Nashville with a 4-0 victory. The same report added that she also previously threw a shutout in the Mid-Atlantic finals.

Today News, in a similar report, said that Davis' performance will hopefully inspire other girls to play baseball. In an interview with the news organization, Davis said she thinks there will be more girls who will be interested in playing the game. "There should be."

Asked how she feels about making it to the Little League World Series, Davis said that it has been an amazing experience for her being part of the top 16 teams in the world.

Now, Davis seems to be looking forward not only to a career in baseball but also in basketball and who knows what other talents she has under her sleeves.
