The jersey of Yankees captain Derek Jeter emerged at the top of this year's list of most popular jerseys.

Jeter's No. 2 jersey was declared the best-selling one by the MLB and MLB Players Association on Wednesday, MLB.com reports. The same report notes that Jeter also used to dominate the list since he has always been loved by baseball fans.

"It always feels good any time the fans respect how you play. It's never something you think about, but you definitely take it as a huge compliment," MLB.com quotes him as saying.

In a similar report, Fox Sports notes that Jeter is "getting a boost" during his final season play.

New York Daily News explains in a report that 40-year-old Jeter will be marking his 14th and final All-Star Game next week in Minneapolis. His current statistics is .270 with 24 RBI, the same report adds. Jeter announced before the start of spring training that this year's campaign would be his last one.

"It feels good. All-Star Games are fun. I'm happy I get the opportunity to come back here. It'll be special for me. It'll be the last one for me, so I'm glad I have the opportunity to go," Jeter told New York Daily News in an interview.

Aside from Jeter, other notable players who also made it to the top 10 list are Buster Posey of the Giants, Clayton Kershaw of the Dodgers, David Ortiz of the Red Sox, Dustin Pedroia of the Red Sox, Yadier Molina of the Cardinals, Mike Trout of the Angels, David Wright of the Mets, Yasiel Puig of the Dodgers and Miguel Cabrera of the Tigers, MLB.com reports.

MLB.com notes that among the top 20, 12 are below 27 years old. Freeman, Tanaka and Rizzo appeared for the first time on the list, the same report adds.

The list features players from 15 clubs inlcusive of the eight in the top 10, MLB.com notes. It was also an international list which not only covers the United States but also some part of Asia.

"The list also features eight infielders, five pitchers, four outfielders, two catchers and a sole DH in Ortiz," the MLB report sums up.
