Viewers won't find any juicy news about Robin Thicke and Paula Patton's split on the new reality series "Unusually Thicke" starring Robin's dad, Alan.

"You won't see drama," said the former "Growing Pains" star in a recent interview with E! News. "You'll see a couple of appearances, cameos by Robin checking up on me."

The 67-year-old veteran actor joked about using his son's high-profile marital woes to gain viewership for his new semi-reality show, which will launch Wednesday on TVGN.

"Of course, I'm happy to exploit him as much as possible," he said. "I hope whatever they decide to do will make them both happy. That's the key thing. You want your kids to be happy. They're strong, smart and talented people and they'll make great decisions."

When news broke of Robin Thicke's split, Robin took to begging for his wife's forgiveness onstage during his many tour stops and now his dad Alan Thicke is speaking out about the breakup.

Since Patton filed for a divorce in late February, her estranged husband has made a number of public declarations that he has not given up on their two-decade relationship. During his concert at Madison Square Garden in March, the 36-year-old singer stressed the importance of "forgiveness" and "doing whatever it takes" to maintain family relationships.

In a video posted on TMZ taken at the New York City concert, the "Blurred Lines" singer took a moment between songs to talk to his fans. During his speech, he opened up about the concept of sharing a life of success and fame with a significant other.

"Once you get there if you don't have friends or family it doesn't mean much, you know?" he said.

"One thing I learned is that when you find that special person, when you find that special someone, you've got to do whatever it takes, you know, and never give up."

"We've got to learn to forgive each other, learn to love each other," he stated. "No matter who it is in your family or relationship.'"

"Because you're always gonna need your friends and family through the good times and the bad times," Thicke explained to his fans who, unfortunately for him, did not have a direct line to Patton.

On March 2, Thicke performed Al Green's classic love song "Let's Stay Together." According to the Daily Mail, when a fan yelled, "I love Paula!" he responded, "I do, too!"
