La Liga's powerhouse Real Madrid CF has maintained its interest in acquiring Liverpool FC forward Luis Suarez, a reliable source disclosed this week.

Already filled with world-class talent from top to bottom, Los Blancos are planning to add more firepower, and this time, they have set their sight on Uruguay's prolific striker.

According to sources, the 27-year-old Suarez has emerged as a possible transfer target for Real Madrid, who already have elite footballer Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo in their attacking unit. The Spanish club is willing to shell out £100 million ($165,859,864 USD) for Suarez, who has amassed 218 career goals in his career.

"Real Madrid are still keen on the idea of signing Luis Suarez in the summer, despite suggestions that they could have to pay £100million for him," KOP Talk reported.

Real Madrid's desire to acquire Suarez, who scored 29 goals in 27 English Premier League (EPL) starts this season, is considered by many as a threat to striker Karim Benzema's tenure with Los Blancos. Benzema is having a great season with 17 goals, but the idea of teaming up Ronaldo, Bale and Suarez is too tempting for the Real Madrid big wigs to resist.

"Madrid's plans to make a move for the former Ajax man have caused concern amongst Karim Benzema and his representatives, who see Suarez as an immediate replacement," Football Direct News reported.

If Real Madrid pulls off another huge transfer coup aquiring Suarez this upcoming offseason, EPL's Arsenal FC is expected to make a run at Benzema to fortify their lineup. The French national team striker hasn't signed a contract extension with the Spanish football club yet, but Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will not think twice about spending more money for a serviceable player like the former Lyon player.

"Needless to say, Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has already been told he can splash the cash the season, making a move for the former Lyon man seem likely," Football Direct News stated.
