The San Francisco 49ers and the New England Patriots are reportedly interested in acquiring the services of wide receiver DeSean Jackson, who is expected to be traded by the Philadelphia Eagles, according to reports on Friday.

The 27-year-old Jackson has become the hottest target on the trading block after reports indicated that the Eagles are looking to trade the former Pro Bowl wide receiver.

"The Eagles are entertaining offers for DeSean Jackson, and the San Francisco 49ers and New England Patriots are interested in acquiring the three-time Pro Bowl receiver," CSN Philly reported via Sports Illustrated.

Efforts to Get Compensation

The Eagles tried to trade Jackson last season in an attempt to get a second round pick or a middle-round pick, but no trade materialized. Jackson instead produced another solid campaign in 2013, recording nine touchdowns and 1,332 yards (16.2 yards per reception).

Philadelphia denied reports that they are shopping Jackson, but confirmed they are willing to listen to any trade offers in the new few seasons.

"The Eagles might not be actively shopping DeSean Jackson but they're picking up the phone and listening to offers. And, according to CSN's Derrick Gunn, other teams are interested," Comcast Sports Net reported on Tuesday.

Jackson, who is now in the second year of his five-year deal worth $51 million ($10.25 million to be paid as a base salary for 2014 season), would give teams another athletic wideout, but his big contract and mercurial attitude are something teams are considering very carefully.

"Although he flourished in first-year coach Chip Kelly's offense, Jackson had some polarizing moments, including a verbal altercation with receivers coach Bob Bicknell on the sideline during a loss to the Vikings at the Metrodome," CSN Philly reported.
