Floyd Mayweather Sr. said his showdown with Ruben Guerrero, the father of former WBC welterweight champ Robert Guerrero, will happen soon after both men reportedly agreed in principle to settle their score once and for all.

Mayweather, who re-assumed his role as the chief trainer of his son and reigning pound-for-pound champion Floyd Mayweather Jr, said his slugfest with Guerrero will take place soon, though the date of the fight has yet to be scheduled.

The fathers of Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero were recently seen eating breakfast together in Los Angeles and confirmed their plans to square off in an official boxing match," Bleacher Report reported.

Best Fight in Years?

Guerrero, who has been trading barbs with the elder Mayweather ever since their sons fought each other in the ring in May 2013, believes his upcoming battle with Money May Sr. is going to be fantastic. He even called his rival one of the best fighters around today.

"You're gonna see one of the best fights, bro," Ruben Guerrero told TMZ. "I'm fighting one of the best fighters in the world."

If the fight takes place, it won't be the first time Mayweather Sr. and Guerrero go toe-to-toe with each other. In January, the two trainers got into a heated confrontation while filming outside a Las Vegas Gym for a reality TV show.

Mayweather Has an Edge

Guerrero fought seven times and lost in all contests, six of which were knockouts,  according to BoxRec.com.

By comparison, Mayweather Sr. holds a 28-6-1 pro record and was a former welterweight champion, having taken on top fighters such as boxing great Sugar Ray Leonard, losing to him via knockout.
