William Levy has long wanted to make the transition from telenovela star to Hollywood actor, and though he's already been cast in a few movies with some big names, "Term Life" could be his breakout role.

A Universal Studio press release said the actor has been cast as Alejandro in the film, which also stars Vince Vaughn and Hailee Steinfeld, according to Deadline.

The film will be directed by Peter Billingsley ("Couples Retreat"), and will follow Nick Barrow (Vaughn), a man who takes his estranged daughter (Steinfeld) on the lam and takes out a life insurance policy on himself that will take 21 days to take effect.

Jordi Molla has also been recently cast as Mexican cartel leader Victor Fuentes, who will go after Barrow. Levy will be playing Molla's son in the film.

Mike Epps was also announced as a new character in the flick. He will play Darryl Mosely, a crooked cop who will try to frame Barrow.

The movie will be released in 2015, but in the meantime, Levy will be plenty busy on the silver screen.

This year he will be seen in "The Single Moms Club," "A Change of Heart," "The Veil" and "Addicted." So if he doesn't break through this year, then maybe 2015 will be his year.

The Cuban actor has made his mark with Spanish-speaking audiences after starring in "Triunfo del Amor" and "Sortilegio."

Last year he announced that he was done working on telenovelas because he wanted to spend more time with his family, according to Hollywood.com.

"It is too much work and as time goes by, I'm trying to find new priorities," he said. "I want to be with my children and spend more time with them. We will see what happens because it is too much time and tiring."
