Titanfall is being considered for eSports tournaments despite only being in the beta stage of development, but it could be awhile before Respawn Entertainment is ready to put their game in a professional game setting.

Larry Hyrb, better known as Major Nelson to Xbox fans, recently hosted a fan question and answer session with some of Respawn's staff. While Respawn is interested in involving Titanfall with eSports, the company said it is more focused on the experience of casual fans.

"...We have a TON of interest from the e-sports community, and I know we're not going to be shipping with all the features that they're going to be wanting in the game, but we're in our first iteration," Respawn community manager Abbie Heppe stated. "A lot of the games that have developed good e-sports features and the competitive community are ones that multiple iterations to get that done and to build in those things."

"So while that couldn't be a priority for us here, we're definitely listening to all of the feedback. We're interested in what competitive players think when the game ships, and it's definitely something we'll look into, but not something that's been our primary focus."

While Titanfall is already being hailed as one of the best new multiplayer games of 2014, Respawn may be concentrating on fine tuning the game and ensuring it releases the right amount of game modes and maps to grow the fanbase for the future rather than focussing on a niche like professional gamers.

Heppe also gave some details about the leveling system found in Titanfall, and while the community manager did not address exactly what the system will be like, he hinted about how long it will take players to level up their characters.

"You are definitely going to put in some time leveling, but we are going to leave that stuff for the players to figure out. We really like to strike a balance between a slow grind and a really rewarding leveling up system. We don't want you to spend all your time hating that you have to complete some task. There are some [tasks to unlock things] in, but we try to make it so that it's not overwhelming," said Heppe.

Titanfall will be officially launched on March 11 for the Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
