The Shield - United States Champion Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns - kicked off Friday Night Smackdown with a Six-Man Tag Team match against Daniel Bryan, Christian, and Sheamus - all foes in the upcoming Elimination Chamber main event for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Sheamus attempted to hit Rollins with the Brogue Kick but missed and nailed Christian instead. The miscommunication allowed for Reigns to hit the Spear on Sheamus and Ambrose to pin the Irishman for the victory.

Zeb Colter was shown backstage, wooing Smackdown general manager Vickie Guerrero with candy and wishes of her being his Valentine date. Guerrero, realizing Colter was just currying favor from her to get his client Jack Swagger of the Real Americans a title shot against Intercontinental Champion Big E Langston, ordered a Fatal Fourway match between Swagger, Mark Henry, Rey Mysterio, and Kofi Kingston to determine Langston's number one contender to his title, Swagger, who has had his problems with Colter of late, managed to clamp the Patriot Lock on Kingston to earn an Intercontinental title shot at Elimination Chamber.

Aksana, accompanied to the ring by Alicia Fox, took on E! Total Diva cast-member Eva Marie. Eva Marie scored the victory after rolling up Aksana for the pin.

In an Eight-Man Tag Team match, The Usos teamed up with the Rhodes brothers - Cody Rhodes & Goldust - to face the WWE Tag Team champions the New Age Outlaws - "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn and "Road Dogg" Jesse James - along with Ryback and Curtis Axel, with one of the Uso siblings scoring the pin for his team to earn the win.

Damien Sandow faced Darren Young in a singles match, with his former Prime Time Player tag-team parter, Titus O'Neil doing commentary. Young outsmarted Sandow, rolling him up for the victory. After the match, O'Neil attacked his former friend, but Young held him off, humiliating him by stripping him of his pants as he beat O'Neil down.

Fandango battled The Miz next, with the dancing WWE Superstar getting distracted during his bout by Santino and Emma, who made their way down the ring. Summer Rae, who accompanied her dance partner to the ring, got into a confrontation with Emma, still upset Santino's uncoordinated friend beat her in a dance contest a couple of weeks ago on Raw, which distracted Fandango long enough to eat a Skull-Crushing Finale, losing to the match to The Miz.

In the main event, WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton - who has been forced to face all of his Elimination Chamber opponents in non-title singles matches as ordered by WWE COO Triple H, battled The Real Americans' Antonio Cesaro. Cesaro made his presence felt going into the pay-per-view against "The Apex Predator," hitting the champion with his Neutralizer finisher for the clean pin to end the show. Orton is now 1-3 against his Elimination Chambers foes, having beaten Christian but taking losses to Cesaro, John Cena, and Daniel Bryan. Sheamus is next up for "The Viper" and will face the Celtic Warrior in the next edition of Monday Night Raw.
