The trade rumors involving Houston Rockets point guard just won't stop. This time, the New York Knicks are reportedly aiming to get back their former star point guard in a trade deal involving centers Omer Asik, Tyson Chandler and budding guard Tim Hardaway Jr.

According to a recent story on Sports World Report, the Knicks could pull off a trade for Asik, who has been a subject of trade rumors ever since he demanded a trade out of Houston in early November.

General manager Dayrl Morey stressed the deadline for entertaining trade offers for Asik has already expired, but NBA insiders still believe the Rockets executive will still move the Turkish center if an enticing offer is placed on table.

"The Rockets would love to trade away Asik and the center would not mind a change in scenery as well. The issue is that he is owed $15 million next season and is set to be an $8.7 million hit to the cap. Morey has yet to find an offer that he feels satisfied with, but the Knicks could be the team that makes the deadline offer to win him over," Sports World Report stated.

Then, David Thorpe of ESPN reported Hardaway Jr, who has been playing well in his first season, might end up as the Knicks' trade chip to acquire Asik. The NBA insider added the Knicks could still bring back Lin if they are bold enough to part ways with Chandler, who is coming off a right leg injury and putting up numbers (8.3 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game) way below his average last season.

"ESPN's David Thrope suggests the Knicks could be the team that makes the last minute offer on Asik to take him off the Rockets' hands. The team has been searching for depth in the front court as several injuries have plagued the team in recent weeks. The reporter also notes that Tyson Chandler could be included if another player like Jeremy Lin was included," via Sports World Report.

Lin is playing an important role in the Rockets bench this season, averaging at least 13 points and 4 assist per game. However, many followers and NBA pundits say that a change of scenery could be the answer to helping Lin return to the superstar-like play he once showcased with the Knicks two years ago.
